On Monday morning, October 27, Brenda Doughty, representing the Olentangy Valley Doll Club of Ohio, made a special delivery to Hawthorne Elementary School where she donated an American Girl doll – Marie-Grace Gardner – for students to enjoy in the media center.  The doll came with six books telling the tale of her arrival in New Orleans – how she took singing lessons from Mademoiselle Oceane, and how she befriended Cecile Rey.  The series is filled with inspiring lessons of compassion, courage and friendship.

The Olentangy Valley Doll Club, a member of the United Federations of Doll Clubs, was organized in 1970.   Each year after they host a Doll & Bear Sale, a portion of the proceeds are donated to charities.  This year Hawthorne Elementary was a lucky recipient.  Marie-Grace came from the American Girl shop at Easton.
