Parent groups have a new online resource to connect with Westerville Parent Council (WPC) – www.westervilleparentcouncil.com.  The website details special events hosted by the WPC; lists resources to support parent groups with financial and other legal requirements; and offers links to sign-ups for GFS Marketplace Fun Funds, which raises scholarship money for deserving Westerville students each year.

Created 12 years ago, Westerville Parent Council brings together all 34 different PTAs, PTOs and booster groups throughout the district to share information, empower families and celebrate students, staff and volunteers.

WPC supports three annual programs throughout the district each year: Ohio PTA’s Reflections art competition; GEM Awards to honor employees and volunteers in the schools; and the Summer Camp and Activities Expo.

The new website can also be accessed through the Westerville City Schools website, www.wcsoh.org.

Westerville Parent Council’s membership is made up of representatives of parent groups throughout the district. Meetings, which include informative discussions about academic topics with districts administrators and leaders, are open to the public. The first meeting of the school year will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, at the district’s Early Learning Center, which is located at 936 Eastwind Drive.
