Artwork created by 20 fifth grade students at Emerson and Hanby elementary schools will be on display at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center during February and March.  The Audubon Center held a contest challenging pupils to create artistic pieces that convey the crucial relationships between native plants and the Ohio birds that rely on them.  The children worked in groups, under the direction of art teacher Juls Rathje, to make pictures that communicated that theme.  They will be honored, along with some 100 other students from around the state, at a public reception held February 3 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The Grange Audubon Insurance Center, located at 505 W. Whittier Street, is a sanctuary for birds and nature lovers, set in parkland created from a formerly urban and industrial site in the heart of downtown Columbus, along the Scioto River.  It is situated within the Scioto Audubon Metro Park.
