Families gathered at the Westerville Community Center on Sunday afternoon, April 29, to view secondary artwork that has been on display there for the past two weeks. A reception was held honoring parents, students and teachers for their success in supporting and promoting the arts in the lives of children throughout the community. April was Celebration of the Arts Month, as proclaimed by the City of Westerville. Westerville City Schools Superintendent Dr. John Kellogg talked about the importance of art in education – how it has the power to make us feel, and how it engages students in the learning experience. Westerville City Schools and the Arts Council of Westerville have hosted district art shows each spring for several years.
