New Teachers Learn About Westerville Schools at Orientation Meeting

Westerville City Schools Board of Education President Richard Bird addresses new teachers at the orientation session on August 11.

 

Sixty teachers who are new to the Westerville City School District gathered in the Media Center at Westerville Central High School on August 11 and 12 for an orientation session hosted by the Office of Human Resources. 

They were greeted by Dr. John Kellogg, Superintendent; and Richard Bird, President of the Westerville City Schools Board of Education.   Throughout the course of the event, the group heard from a number of speakers who addressed topics including Public School Works/Wellness; Email/Intranet, webpages and social media; AESOP/Innovative Loan Solutions; employee insurance; benefits/finances; curriculum/technology integration; custodial services; special education; Power Teacher/Power School; levy information; Resident Educator program; My Ed portal – LPDC and IPDP; tech support login for various accounts; and a review of the Westerville Education Association Master Contract, conducted by Rhonda Gilpin, WEA President, and Amy Hinz, WEA membership chair.
