OSU engineering student Aidan Plunkitt helps a Fouse fourth grader make an LED circuit board.

On January 24, several Ohio State University engineering students, led by Professor Betty Lise Anderson, spent the afternoon making LED Circuit Boards with fourth graders at Fouse Elementary School.  The children had the opportunity to learn about electrical circuits through a hands-on approach.  The OSU students also discussed how the youngsters could actually start preparing now for a career in engineering.  One university pupil attended Hawthorne Elementary School when he was a boy.  Seeing his success allowed the fourth graders to think about their own future.

Fouse began implementing “The Leader in Me” program this fall.  Teachers said having helpful and encouraging OSU students at Fouse provided a perfect example of what leaders do.
