The Girls on the Run Team from Fouse Elementary School spent the last two weekends running and cheering on a classmate.  Girls on the Run is an after-school program that helps girls get a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them.  They look at the role of teams and healthy relationships and explore how girls can positively connect with and shape the world. The girls meet twice a week with their coaches – parent Patty Bibbo, volunteer Molly Gansel, and Fouse teachers Heather Schuerer and Heather Griffith.  This year, to positively connect with and shape the world, the team decided to work with Team Heart and Sole, a non-profit organization serving the disability community in the central Ohio area since 2011.  One of their Fouse classmates was a champion at the Field of Heroes 5K on Sunday, May 24, so the girls made signs for all the champions and attended the 5K to cheer them all on.  The following weekend on Saturday, May 30, they completed their own 5k in downtown Columbus at the Commons.
