The Westerville City School District is piloting a Health Heroes Flu Vaccination Clinic for the State of Ohio.  The event will take place on September 10 and 11 at 23 sites throughout the district – all school buildings, plus the Early Learning Center and the Transportation Complex.  The goal is to reduce absenteeism for students and staff.

Students with private insurance or Medicaid will be provided the vaccine with no out of pocket expenses or deductibles, but parents must complete a consent form and submit it to the school nurse.  Student participation is voluntary.  Qualifying uninsured students will be given the vaccine, free of charge.  FluMist®, the LAIV Quadrivalent pain-free, nasal spray vaccine will be provided.  Flu Zone® TIV, or injections, will also available.

Westerville City Schools employees who carry private health insurance are also eligible to be vaccinated.
