Aaron Westbrook is living proof that perseverance can result in promise.

Aaron Westbrook visited fifth graders at Emerson Magnet School recently to talk about his new non-profit, which provides prosthetic devices for kids free of charge.  Prosthetic devices can cost up to $40,000 dollars, they learned.  Westbrook, a freshman going to Antioch College this fall, makes the prosthetics using 3D printing technology.  Amazingly, he uses recycled plastics for zero cost to his recipients.  Westbrook told his story of persevering through the disappointment of the current prosthetic system, and how that led to his flourish in 3D printing assistive devices for people like himself.  The underlying theme of his talk was persistence through challenges and how setbacks can push you one step further.  Students heard first hand that the power to make a difference is in their own hands.
