Students at Emerson and Hanby elementary schools will get the unique opportunity to send their artwork into space this school year.  Art teacher Juls Rathje is spearheading the effort.  When the pictures are complete, Rathje will send images of the work to Loli Lanas of Projekt Postcard.  Then, a file of student creations will be sent to astronauts who will project the images onto the walls of the International Space Station.  “There will be a physical formal exhibition of student work here on planet Earth later in the year,” says Rathje.

Rathje worked with Projekt Postcard last year as well, that allowed children to participate in an art exchange program with Ecuador and Mbale.

Projekt Postcard is global collaborative arts and culture exchange project that joins together students at the lower elementary level. It is an exciting, challenging and unique experience that allows professional working artists, art teachers, students and the community to connect and collaborate.  For further information, please visit https://www.projektpostcard.com/ .
