“Fireworks, Friends & Freedom” has been chosen as the theme for Rotary’s July 4th parade.  Imani Oshodi, a first grade student in Erica Layne’s class at Annehurst Elementary School, came up with the winning submission and won $100 and a place of honor in the big 4th of July parade.  Imani and her family were the guests of honor at a Rotary Club of Westerville luncheon held on May 5 at Villa Milano.

The Rotary Club of Westerville sponsors the theme contest, which this year drew hundreds of entries from 16 elementary schools in the community.  All classrooms with 100% participation in the competition were also entered into a drawing to win a pizza party.  That was won by students in Katie Ensell’s third grade classroom at Hawthorne Elementary School.
