Emerson Elementary School held its annual Pi Day Celebration with a Pi Day Memorization contest. More than 50 students participated representing all grades from 1st through 5th. Top winners from each grade level received a special Pi Day t-shirt provided by the Emerson PTA. This year’s winners included: Alicia Deng (5th grade), Sammy Gurgiolo (4th grade), Devin Eby (3rd grade), Avamarie Hedrick (2nd grade), and Olivia Hillberry (1st grade). Alicia Deng memorized 160 digits of Pi making her the school wide winner.
