The family of Walnut Springs Middle School student Ryan Washburn is organizing a 5K fundraiser called the Diabetes Dash, which will take place on Sunday, July 7. Proceeds will benefit the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. The run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. the Westerville Sports Complex, located at 325 North Cleveland Avenue.
Ryan’s mother, Jackie Washburn, wrote, “From the moment we entered into the Type 1 family, we knew it was our mission to help spread awareness, give hope to those dealing with the disease and to fight for a cure. We are very lucky for the support we have received from JDRF and want to do our part in giving back. Together we hope to someday find a cure.”
