It was truly a night to be remembered.  Red carpet, packed house, spectacular live performances, awards, refreshments, and the premiere of a long-awaited, brand new CD called A Smile is Contagious.  Hollywood was no match for Alcott Elementary School on Friday evening, March 1, when Jim Ledford’s first grade students hosted a “groovy” 60s- themed CD release party in the media center.

The event featured 19 original songs like This is Where I Live, Mr. Turkey, the Alligator Song, and the Untied Shoes Blues.   Ledford accompanied the group on guitar and harmonica, and Casey Wright played percussion.  CDs, which were professionally recorded at Blue Moon Studies, were sold to parents after the star-studded gala.
