It is Music Watch Week at Alcott Elementary School, a highly anticipated annual event that invites parents and family members into Kristen Wright’s music room to watch and take part in classes that feature singing, dancing, playing instruments and reading music.  The purpose is to build a community and culture of arts awareness.  “Students love sharing the joy and unity that music brings,” says Wright.

The invitation she sent home to parents included a quote from Plato:  “Musical training is a more potent instrument than any other, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.”
