Westerville Parent Council (WPC), a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization unifying 34 member groups, which include PTAs, PTOs, Booster and Community Groups, was recognized by the Board of Education on November 19 for providing an avenue for collaboration, support and the sharing of district-wide information to help ensure that families are engaged and connected in Westerville Schools.  During the 2017-2018 school year, volunteers in WPC member groups provided 66,118 hours of donated time and talent in such areas as band, theater, athletic support, literacy initiatives, student leadership development, tutoring, mentoring and clubs.  Monetary contributions provided by member groups collectively totaled $858,094.35 in the form of programs, projects and activities to support the well-being of pupils.  WPC member groups also aided graduating seniors from all three high schools with scholarships worth $44,000.  The Board and Superintendent expressed their gratitude to these remarkable volunteers for their generous giving of time and talent, and their continuing legacy of enhancing the educational and extracurricular experience for students in this district.
