Dr. Nancy Nestor-Baker, longtime member of the Westerville City Schools Board of Education, has been selected to serve on an Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) committee — the OSBA Board Member Cabinet.  This advisory group, which was formed in 2008, is made up of local school board members from across the state who conduct grassroots advocacy for public education by sharing the perspective of local school boards and OSBA with Ohio’s top policymakers.

The Board Member Cabinet will be participating in meetings with Ohio’s gubernatorial candidates.  Also participating will be leaders from OSBA, the Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) and the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA).

The group is scheduled to meet with Betty Sutton, the Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, on August 20.  On August 24, they will meet with Jon Husted, the Republican candidate for lieutenant governor and the person who would be the lead on education issues in a DeWine administration.

“The discussions should be interesting and it’s good for education management organizations to have cordial relations with both sides of the aisle,” said Dr. Nestor-Baker. “I am planning to attend both meetings.”
