Lyndsey Manzo, Secondary Science Curriculum Specialist for Westerville City Schools, will be representing science supervisors from across the state on the Ohio Department of Education’s advisory committee for the revision of Ohio’s Science Learning Standards.  This group will be instrumental in providing guidance to the standards revisions working groups by reviewing public comments and suggestions related to standards revisions for science; providing guidance for the scope of work assigned to the working groups for science; and reviewing and approving edits to Ohio’s Learning Standards in response to the comments and suggestions.  Work begins this winter.  Revised science standards are expected to be presented to the Ohio House and Senate Education Committees and the State Board of Education in fall 2017.

Manzo graduated from Westerville South in 1995.  She went on to earn undergraduate degrees in Wildlife Biology and Science Education from Ohio University and a graduate degree in Natural Resources/Environmental Education from The Ohio State University.  She holds a Senior Professional Educator License with a Teacher Leader Endorsement.  Manzo taught science at Westerville North for 15 years before transitioning to the district’s curriculum team in 2015.
