Alcott’s enormous food and product collection for W.A.R.M. this year gave its turkey mascot a lot to gobble about.
Once again this year, students and families at Alcott Elementary School spent the week before Thanksgiving Break collecting paper products and nonperishable food items for the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (W.A.R.M.). Urged on by the appearance and presence of the school’s favorite giant turkey, W.A.R.M. reported that Alcott collected an incredible 3,241 pounds of goods for distribution to families in the Westerville area. This is more than 700 pounds more than last year! The event, sponsored by Student Council, has become the annual community service project, a favorite among students, families, and staff at Alcott.
