My name is Jami Patton and this will be my thirteenth year at Wilder, and my second in 3rd Grade. I previously spent 11 1/2 years in first grade. I am a proud graduate of Westerville schools and completed my undergraduate program at Otterbein College. I graduated from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan with my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a Resident Educator teacher mentor for the district, which helps new teachers throughout the school year, and as a student teacher advisor for college students. I am also very involved in staff leadership and am involved in several committees that support our wonder Wilder students. I am also very proud to be named one of The Columbus Dispatch’s Star Teachers. I couldn’t have done it without wonderful students and parents!
I have been married for eleven years to my husband Ryan. We have two daughters, Emma, who will be 6 in October, and Lauren, who will be 5 in November. We also have a beagle mix dog named Tigger. We live in Westerville, so I run into students at the grocery store, Community Center, or the library often! I enjoy reading a lot and I am a huge sports fan. It is especially fun when I run into students at Nationwide Arena (it has happened!). I even got the opportunity to go to a game with a few of my students as part of the Blue Jackets at School reading program.
If you ever need to contact me, please feel free to do so, especially through e-mail or your child's partner pad. I can usually check e-mail 4 times a day (in the morning, lunch, while the kids are at specials, and after school), so I can get back to you a lot faster. If we work together, I believe we can have a wonderful and productive year with your student.
See you soon!
Jami
