Professional Background: I hold degrees from The Ohio State University: BA English (‘83), BS Education (‘85), and MA Education (‘91). I have participated in two National Endowment for the Humanities workshops. In addition to several in-service presentations for staff on assessment issues, I have presented to educators regionally (state librarians), and nationally at two National Council of Teachers of English Conventions; and I have been published in The Ohio Journal. I have taught beginning composition at Columbus State Community College, and am trained in AP English Literature and Composition as well as AP English Language and Composition

The courses I take reflect my interests. Recently, I participated in two very different hands-on courses--one on making books by hand, another on composing with electronic media. Other recent classes include a course on the psychology of paranormal beliefs, and a course on international trends in the use of technology to support teaching and learning.  I began my career at WNHS in the 1987 school year (Go Warriors!).  I helped open WCHS in the 2004 school year (Go Warhawks!).
