SCHOLARS' NIGHT

Each year, Westerville South honors last year's freshmen, sophomores and juniors for their academic achievement.  Awards bestowed include Merit Scholar recognitions (3.3 - 3.699 GPA) and Academic Letters (3.7 - 4.0+ GPA).  In addition, thirty-three WSHS Academic Boosters Departmental Excellence Awards are given per grade level in the subject areas of Art, Business, World Languages, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies and Music.  As the academic supporting organization and on behalf of Westerville South, the Academic Boosters donate a gift of achievement to each of these students.

The Academic Boosters support "Cats with Class".  Approximately 80 students in total are recognized as "Cats with Class" in November and March of each year.  "Cats with Class" honors students who have demonstrated acts of kindness, good school citizenship, or service and thereby, help make South High School a wonderful place for learning and teaching.  Students are joined by family members along with teachers and staff who nominated them for this prestigious honor at a breakfast hosted by the Academic Boosters.
 

FRESHMAN MERIT CERTIFICATES

The Academic Boosters began a new tradition January, 2014 by awarding freshman students who have earned a 3.3 or above CUM GPA after the first two quarters of the current school year, Freshmen Merit Certificates signed by the Principal and Academic Boosters President.

TEACHER / STAFF APPRECIATION

Through the school year, the Academic Boosters provides snacks for the monthly teacher/staff meetings.  In April, the Academic Boosters provides a luncheon
for South's entire staff to thank them
for all they do for the students and
parents of this great school.
 

EVENING FOR EXCELLENCE
May 2019

This is an evening to celebrate and honor graduating seniors and their accomplishments during their high school career.  The
Academic Boosters honors the Senior Scholarship recipients and eleven seniors for the Academic Boosters Departmental Excellence Awards:  Art, Business, World Languages, Music, Physical Education, Science and Social Studies.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Academic Boosters support graduating seniors electing to further their education by offering a minimum of three $500 scholarships based on available funding May of the 
academic year:  The Wildcat Excellence Scholarship, The Wildcat Success Scholarship and The Wildcat Perseverance Scholarship.
